1. Are any particular areas of London famous for restaurants and bars?
The Rembrandt is right between South Kensington and Knightsbridge – two of London’s biggest dining destinations. You’ll find anything from simple cafés and sushi bars to Michelin-starred restaurants within an easy stroll – here are some of our favourites.
We have menus for many of these restaurants and are happy to advise. And if you don’t feel like going out, we have a great restaurant and bar on site.
2. Where is the nearest London Underground station?
You can reach South Kensington Tube Station in five minutes on foot. From here, you can take the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines to anywhere in London. Here is some information on public transport.
3. Where can I park?
Several car parks in Knightsbridge and South Kensington offer secure 24-hour parking. We recommend Chelsea Cloisters, which is about a 10-minute walk away and which offers discounted rates for hotel guests.
There are parking restrictions on most London streets – please ask us at the concierge desk.
4. How do I get to and from Heathrow airport?
Easy. The quickest route is via the Heathrow Express, which runs straight from Heathrow to Paddington Station in 15 minutes, with trains leaving every 15 minutes. From Paddington, take the Circle line to South Kensington Tube Station, a five-minute walk from the hotel. The Tube journey takes 15 minutes.
A less expensive but slightly slower route is on the Piccadilly line of the London Underground. This travels directly between Heathrow Airport and South Kensington Tube Station. Journey time is around an hour, with trains leaving every 10 minutes or so.
5. What are the local tourist attractions?
We are opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), a few minutes on foot from the Natural History Museum and Science Museum, and a 10-minute walk from the Royal Albert Hall. We have lots of leaflets and information about cultural attractions in the area, as well as good free maps of London.
If you want a break from sightseeing, you can stroll through nearby Hyde Park.
6. Do you have information on sightseeing tours and open top buses?
We can recommend sightseeing tours depending on your interests, and in many cases issue tickets directly from the hotel. So you can pay by credit card and save time and trouble later. The ‘Big Bus’ open top bus, and all other pre-booked tours, collect and drop off passengers at the bus stop right outside.
7. Where are the nearest shops?
Harrods is a five-minute walk away with its magnificent food emporium. South Kensington is renowned for high-end shopping – here you’ll find stores like Harvey Nichols and shopping destinations like Sloane Street and Kings Road.
8. Will you look after my luggage?
Of course. You can leave your luggage with us when you check out, so that you are free to go out and explore for the day. If you’re splitting your stay and returning to us, we can also store your belongings.
9. Where is the nearest bank?
We have an ATM in the lobby and there are banks and currency exchange bureaus within a five-minute walk.
10. Where is the nearest 24-hour pharmacy?
