The Ultimate Guide for Visiting Winter Wonderland 2018
If you’re looking for some festive spirit this year then Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is the place for you. The annual Christmas event gets bigger and better every year, and Winter Wonderland 2018 is already set to be 6 weeks of amazing festive fun. The famous event offers so much to see and do, and whether you want to do some shopping at the Christmas markets, warm up with mulled wine in the festive bars or get a thrill on some fairground rides, Winter Wonderland 2018 has it all. The annual event is known for drawing a big crowd to the central London park, and if you don’t properly plan your day you can be stuck in long queues and busy tube stations. We’ve created the ultimate guide for visiting Winter Wonderland 2018 to help you celebrate the season at one of the biggest Christmas events in the country.
Buy Your Tickets Early
Winter Wonderland 2018 will once again be completely free to enter, but attractions such as Ice Skating, The Big Wheel, and Cirque Berserk can be booked in advance online. These attractions are very popular and can get fully booked on peak dates, so be sure to book your tickets to these well in advance to avoid disappointment. There are 13 different attractions available this year, with new additions like the Coaster Pass available for Winter Wonderland 2018.
Don’t Worry About Cash
In previous years, Winter Wonderland has been notorious for only accepting cash in the restaurants, bars and stalls, but Winter Wonderland 2018 has been upgraded with contactless payments across the park. Don’t panic about getting enough cash out for your visit or spending time queuing up at the cash machines (which are dotted around Winter Wonderland in case you do need them), simply bring your card and enjoy yourself!
Wrap Up Warm
The clue is in the name, but Winter Wonderland 2018 can get very chilly in the winter months and the majority of the attractions, bars and stalls are open-air. Rock your best Christmas jumper as well as a big coat, hat, scarf and gloves and you should be set for a day and night at one of the biggest Christmas events in the country. If you do start feeling the cold then don’t worry, a mulled wine or hot chocolate by a roaring fire is never too far away when you’re in Winter Wonderland.
Party In Bavaria
One of Winter Wonderland’s best attractions is The Bavarian Village and it is back again for 2018. Packed full of cosy wooden chalets, large outdoor seating areas and the Bavarian Hall, it is the perfect place for a festive night out. Live music and DJs play throughout the village, so you can dance along to the best Christmas hits whilst swigging from your stein and enjoying a tasty bratwurst.
Bring The Little Ones And Meet Santa
Winter Wonderland 2018 is geared up to entertain children of all ages. Rides vary from gentle attractions for kids as young as two, to large roller coasters for thrill seeking teens. You can take the kids to meet Father Christmas and his magical elves at Santa Land Grotto, which is open every day except Christmas Day and completely free. The majority of the Winter Wonderland site is pushchair friendly and baby changing facilities are available throughout the park.
Avoid The Crowds And Stay Nearby
As Winter Wonderland draws such large crowds every year, it can make getting to and from Hyde Park a bit of a challenge. Nearby tube stations are always very busy, so in order to avoid the crowds book yourself a stay nearby. When you stay at The Rembrandt, you will be within walking distance of the festivities making your journey there and back easy and stress free. After a long day enjoying Winter Wonderland 2018, you can relax and enjoy a night cap in 1606 Lounge Bar, and we will even give you a free drink of your choice if you book direct on our website. Book your stay for Winter Wonderland at least 3 days in advance and you can save up to 20% with our advance purchase rate.
