As the days turn shorter and the temperature drops, there is still plenty to see and do in London. Many people love Winter in the City and a lot of locals in London say that this season is their favourite time of year. Our Capital is geared up for the cold weather, with plenty of Winter events, cosy pubs, and wonderful days out to be had for all ages. Last year, a lot of London Winter events were put on hold thanks to the pandemic, but this year there is plenty to enjoy. In no particular order, these are our top 10 things to do in London this Winter:
1. Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland is the best destination for some festive fun this Winter, and last year the huge festival was forced to close its doors. In 2021, Winter Wonderland is back with a bang and we cannot wait! This year, numbers are being carefully controlled to keep everyone safe, so be sure to prebook in advance. Winter Wonderland 2021 will open on 19th November and runs until 3rd December, and all the favourite attractions from previous years will be there. The famous outdoor ice rink, Zippos Christmas Circus, and the Giant Wheel can all be booked in advance now.
2. Moulin Rouge! The Musical
From 12th November, Moulin Rouge will be heading to the West End for the first time ever. You can warm up this Winter at Piccadilly Theatre and be captivated by the incredible costumes and unforgettable performances. Based on the much-loved 2001 film, this show features a blend of old favourite tunes and vibrant new songs.
3. Cirque Du Soleil
In January 2022, Cirque Du Soleil will be opening once again at the Royal Albert Hall, and this time marks 25 years since the captivating event first took to this famous stage. Luzia, A Waking Dream Of Mexico will showcase unbelievable acrobatics and a performance you will never forget this Winter.
4. Fantastic Beasts At The Natural History Museum
London is home to many wonderful museums and they are the perfect day out for all the family this Winter. You can explore how the wonders of the natural world inspire legends, myths and magical creatures.
5. London’s Parks And Gardens
It might be a big city, but London boasts plenty of green spaces. While heading outside in the Winter might not be top of your list of things to do, we recommend wrapping up warm and setting off on an adventure. Many of London’s parks look even more stunning in the Winter, with a dusting of frost and snow. Wander around Hyde Park to find famous spots like The Serpentine, go Pelican and Parakeet spotting in St James’s Park, or visit the famous deer at Richmond Park.
